FAQ's for Pole Dancing

DO:

  • You should wear short shorts or trunk compression shorts and a sports bra and/or tank top. Pole dancing requires skin contact with the pole in order to stick to and hold moves. The higher level you get the more skin contact you need. Pole is done bare foot and sometimes in high heels depending on the class. The instructor and/or class description will tell you if heels are needed for a particular class.
  • As you get into higher levels you may want to either shave your legs (:^o) or purchase specialty pole leggings. Leg hair can get ripped out in the harder poses!

DON’T:

  • Wear jewelry, zippers, or any metal as that will result in getting poked. As well as baggy shirts since we will be inverting and your skirt will get caught.

Yes! We have had many students with this concern and many of them have gone on to be advanced pole-ers! It’s our job to help you get stronger no matter what level you are at! We will teach you everything you need to know and do exercises with you to get you stronger!

It doesn’t matter, how big or small you are, how old or young, sexy or clumsy you are, everyone can have fun and learn a ton in our Pole dance classes. Our pole and aerials equipment is commercial grade custom made for the height of our studio and securely anchored both top and bottom in place. (My husband and I doing partner spin moves at over 300 lbs combined haven’t had any troubles.)

For any acrobatic or pole classes it is highly discouraged to not be sober
in class. Many of the moves are very physically challenging and demand
full coordination and awareness. Please contact your instructor on
policy for other types of class. We want you to have fun AND be safe!

SPIN POLE

Static vs Spinning Poles! What’s the difference?

Static poles offer stability as you dance, making them a popular choice for beginners. With a static pole, you can easily judge your own momentum, balance, and master basic techniques. This type of pole is also ideal for performing acrobatic moves, such as tumbling and drops, that can be challenging on a spinning pole. And, with a static pole, you can focus solely on your own position and technique, without worrying about the movement of the pole. Bonus: You’ll also need less muscle control, grip, and strength to hold onto a static pole.

Spinning poles, on the other hand, add a whole new level of excitement to pole dancing. As the pole rotates, you’ll be able to execute speedy moves that might be difficult to do on a static pole. And, spinning poles allow you to hold static tricks longer as the pole visually changes the viewpoint of the spin. However, before trying out a spinning pole, it’s important to have a strong trick base, body control, and well-developed core muscles.

Careful though! While spinning poles make it easier to spin and feel like you’re flying, proper precautions must be taken to avoid injury. Start your pole dance journey on a static pole to build your technique and strength, then move on to the spinning pole for a thrilling, high-speed experience.”
